Then God said to Noah, “I have decided to put an end to every creature, for the earth is filled with wickedness because of them; therefore I am going to destroy them along with the earth. “Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it with pitch inside and outside. “Understand that I am bringing a flood — floodwaters on the earth to destroy every creature under heaven with the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will die. But I will establish My covenant with you, and you will enter the ark with your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives.
Genesis 6:13-14, 17-18 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
In a world where God was about to judge all living things God found one family that he was willing to spare. This family was spared because of the righteousness of the father, Noah. God gave provisions for them to live through the impending flood. Noah preached God’s gospel to those who are around them but they never believed or repented.
Today we live in a world where sin is rife and rampant. There are many persons who are oblivious to the fact that God is going to judge this world one day. They don’t know what it means to be a part of the kingdom of God. Some don’t even know about the kingdom of God, while some know about God’s kingdom but refuse to be a part of it.
In this world there is one family that is tasked with the duty of preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God, with winning lost souls, healing, and delivering persons from the clutch of the devil. That family is made up of Jesus Christ as the head, and all his disciples who are called the Church.
Are you a member of this family?
Will you be saved from eternal destruction when God judges the world?
Have you made preparations so that you will be with God for all eternity?
Have you been fulfilling your duty to go into all the world to make disciples who will be a part of God’s Kingdom?
We learn from Noah’s story that God is just, and while willing to save us all He will punish those who refuse to live in obedience to Him. We need to all come to the understanding that God’s Word will come to pass and we should choose to live our lives obedient to Him.
If you haven’t already chosen to obey God, I implore you to choose to live as a disciple of Christ today. If your loved ones are still held captive by the devil, choose today to fight on their behalf (in prayer and by sharing the gospel with them) so that they can gain eternal life when they choose to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior.
God is still speaking to mankind just ad he did to Noah, therefore we should listen and be ready to obey him.
Noah’s family numbered 8. The present family of God is numerous and scattered over the world , but we tend to hide behind each other, hoping that someone else will do the job of evangelizing. If each one would only reach one………
