And the angel came to her and said, “Rejoice, favored woman! The Lord is with you.” Then the angel told her: Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Now listen: You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will call His name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.
“I am the Lord’s slave,” said Mary. “May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel left her.

Good morning fellow disciples.
Rejoice Mary! Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. You will give birth to the Messiah. You will name him Jesus.
Do you know what I like about God’s instruction to Mary?
It’s the fact that there was no conversation with her. The angel came with a proclamation and just spoke it to her.
God chose her. God had a plan for her life. God told her His plan. I love these two statements:
1. You WILL conceive and give birth to a son! and,
2. You WILL call His name Jesus!
What God planned was a done deal. It was going to happen regardless of how Mary felt. The good news is that Mary never resisted God’s plan for her life. She willingly accepted what the angel said.
Know this my fellow disciples: God has a plan and purpose for your life! When He reveals it to you what will be your response be?
Will you be like Mary who said, “I am the Lord’s slave. May it be done to me according to your word”?
Prayer: Father God, thank You for this wonderful example of a woman who was willing to be used by You, who was willing to obey Your instructions, and who was willing to have her life upended by surrendering to Your will.
May we also realize that You have plans and purposes for our lives, and may we be willing to submit and surrender to Your will for our lives.
As we ponder Your instructions for us may our only focus be on who You are and how we may live our lives faithful to You. I ask this in Jesus’ name, amen.
Like Mary my heart say Yes to your Will Lord. Help me to focus you n know your Will for my life. In Jesus name amen.
God sometimes plant seeds in us and as it is nurtured by the Holy Spirit we give birth to successful ministries for his glory.
