The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Luke 4:18-19 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Why did Father God give Jesus these instructions?
“For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”
John 3:16-17 HCSB
God loves us and wants us to live in unity with Him. His instruction to Jesus was to bring us back into right standing with Him by Jesus giving Himself to redeem us from our sin.
Luke 4:18-19 as recorded in The Passion Translation says: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, healing for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.”
Father God basically said to Jesus: “Son, go become like one of them, but obey Me in all things; preach the good news, heal the sick, set free those who are oppressed by the devil, and pay the penalty for their sin so that they can come back into right standing with me.”
Jesus did all of this!
Because of Him we can reclaim our original position in God’s Kingdom. We can become His righteous sons and daughters, able to live in this world the way that God requires.
Aren’t you happy that Jesus followed God’s instructions to Him?
Because of Jesus’ obedience:
1. We are accepted by God once more!
2. We are set free from the devil’s captivity!
3. We have hope, healing, and we can see clearly who God intends us to be!
Hallelujah! Glory to God!
Thank You Jesus, for following God’s instructions! Amen.
Praise God the death and resurrection of Christ gave birth to our eternal life
What a blessing!
