Husbands, love your wives and don’t be bitter toward them.
Colossians 3:19 HCSB
Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so they won’t become discouraged.
Colossians 3:21 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Husbands and fathers, you are supposed to love your wives and children!
God is instructing you to love your wives: to cherish, be tender to them, to take care of them, to empower them to be great companions, and to NOT feel or show anger, hurt, or resentment towards them.
Is this how you treat you wife?
God is instructing you fathers to love your children. Do not treat them in any manner that will cause them to give up! After all you are to :”Teach a youth about the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6 HCSB
Are you teaching your children to live according to God’s commands?
Are you tearing them down and exasperating them, thus causing them to be rebellious to both you and God?
Prayer: Therefore, God’s chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive.
Above all, put on love — the perfect bond of unity. And let the peace of the Messiah, to which you were also called in one body, control your hearts.
Be thankful. Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Colossians 3:12-17 HCSB
Thank you for such a strong reminder on the dual roles and responsibilities of a godly man with become a husband and father. Blessings
