God’s Instructions To Gideon

The Angel of the Lord came, and He sat under the oak that was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash, the Abiezrite. His son Gideon was threshing wheat in the wine vat in order to hide it from the Midianites. Then the Angel of the Lord appeared to him and said: “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” Gideon said to Him, “Please Sir, if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened? And where are all His wonders that our fathers told us about? They said, ‘Hasn’t the Lord brought us out of Egypt? ’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to Midian.”

The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and deliver Israel from the power of Midian. Am I not sending you? ”

Good morning fellow disciples.

How would you respond if the Lord came to you and said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior”?

Are you a mighty warrior? Will you become a mighty warrior because the Lord declares that you are? Many of us focus on the part of the verse which says that Gideon was a mighty warrior. However, what we should focus on is the part that says, “the Lord is with you”.

Is the Lord with you? Are you a disciple of Jesus Christ? If you are, you can rest in the assurance that He will never leave you nor forsake you. God is with you!

The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and deliver Israel from the power of Midian. Am I not sending you? ”

Has God sent you? If the answer is yes, then you have all you need to do what He has told you to do!

Prayer: Father God, I know that Your Holy Spirit is with me. Holy Spirit, You have never left me nor forsaken me. Lord Jesus, You have commissioned us to go and make disciples, with the promise that You will be with us even to the end of the age.

Because You are with me and because You have sent me, I know that I am well prepared to fulfill this task. I go out in the strength that I have, full of faith that You are with me and that I will successfully accomplish what You have told me to do.

I am a mighty warrior! My strength is enough because You are with me! Amen.
