The Lord said to Abram: Go out from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, I will curse those who treat you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
Genesis 12:1-3 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
God told Abraham to leave his family and everything he knew to go somewhere God hadn’t revealed to him as yet. God promised Abraham that He would make his name great and that Abraham would be a blessing to others. Even more, God made the promise that all peoples on Earth would be blessed through Abraham.
Abraham believed God! He left his family behind to go somewhere that God would show him!
Are you willing to take God at His Word?
Are you willing to obediently follow His instructions?
Have you been following God’s instructions for your life?
Do you believe that as an important part of God’s plan, you will bring blessings to countless persons?
The first verse of the the song “Father Abraham” reads as follows:
“Father Abraham had many sons
Many sons had Father Abraham
I am one of them and so are you
So let’s just praise the Lord”.
Jesus the Messiah is one of Abraham’s descendants. Because of the Lord Jesus we can have eternal life if we choose to accept Him as Lord and Savior. Accepting Jesus as Lord makes us not only sons of Abraham, but also sons of God. Every person on Earth can receive this blessing if they choose Jesus as their Savior!
Remember God’s promise to Abraham? “If you would follow My instructions then all peoples will be blessed through you.” GOD FULFILLED HIS PROMISE TO ABRAHAM!
Wouldn’t you like to be used the way that God used Abraham to bless others?
Prayer: Father God, thank You for showing us how faithful You were to Abraham. Because of his story we see that You keep Your promises to those who follow Your instructions.
Father God, I am humbled to think that You could use one man to change the course of history. I also want to be one that You will use to change the lives of others.
I surrender to You Lord! I will follow all Your instructions and live my life being a blessing to others, because You have blessed me. Amen
