God Is Waiting For You To Answer The Call

God Is Waiting For You To Answer The Call

The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: “Get up! Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because their wickedness has confronted Me.” However, Jonah got up to flee to Tarshish from the Lord’s presence. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. He paid the fare and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish, from the Lord’s presence.
Jonah 1:1‭-‬3 HCSB

Good morning fellow disciples.

Wait: To rest in expectation and patience.

God has a plan and purpose for your life. God is speaking to you. God wants you to bring His Word to the lost.

Do you know your God ordained purpose?

Are you listening to God?

Are you willing to declare God’s Word to those who need it?

Jonah was God’s chosen prophet but he didn’t want to go to the persons that God was sending him to. He ran away from God and refused to fulfill God’s call on his life. God called Jonah and He has called you also.

Are you like Jonah, running away from your calling?

Notice that God gave Jonah the same call after Jonah repented of his sin.

Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: “Get up! Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach the message that I tell you.” So Jonah got up and went to Nineveh according to the Lord’s command.
Jonah 3:1‭-‬3a HCSB

GOD WAITED FOR JONAH TO SAY YES, AND HE IS STILL WAITING ON YOU TO WALK IN YOUR CALLING!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for waiting on me to answer the call You have given me. I sinned by refusing to do what you said. I confess my sin of disobedience. I repent!

I am ready to do as You say. I will obey You in all things. Give me a compassionate heart for those who are in need of salvation, healing and deliverance. Lord Jesus, I want to be like You. Help me to obey God and love people the way You do. Amen

  1. I believe that God’s call to Jonah represents a call to us as disciples.
Let us listen while waiting as he speaks to us especially for such a time as this.
