When Do I Start Witnessing

By Andrew Williams – March 11, 2021

Scripture : However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled. Mark 5:19‭-‬20 NKJV

Observation: The story in Matthew 5 is the story of how the demonized man got delivered. There are many things that we can learn from this story but today I want to look at these two verses. After being delivered from his demonization by Jesus the man wanted to go with Jesus and become His disciple, but look at Jesus’ response.

Go and tell your friends and family what the Lord has done for you! Jesus didn’t spend weeks or months or years with him before sending him out as a witness. He sent him right away!

Have you had an encounter with God? Is the answer, yes? Good! Now go and tell someone what God has done for you! Start and continue witnessing to others about your encounters with God.

Application: I won’t wait to start sharing my testimony. I will encourage others to share their testimony.

Prayer : My witness is what I know of You Lord. Help me to boldly share what I have experienced with You with others, and help me to encourage others to share their stories too. Father God bless us and others as we share our stories and Your story, I pray, amen.
