Go In The Strength That You Have

The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and deliver Israel from the power of Midian. Am I not sending you? ” Judges 6:14 HCSB

Good morning fellow disciples.

Have you ever felt so weak that you didn’t believe that you could do what was required of you? When people ask you to do something you evaluate how to get it done, and you either choose or refuse the task based on if you think you are capable of fulfilling the task. Majority of times if our assessment of the task is honestly done we can see that some tasks are impossible in our own strength.

The sad thing also is that when God directs us to fulfill a task we use our assessment of our strength to decide if we are going to obey. Some of us expect God to increase our strength for the task or to make us superhuman. The point that I am trying to make is that we tend to focus on our strength:
1. Either it’s too small and we won’t succeed, or
2. Please God, increase our strength so that we can be successful.

When will we redirect our focus to God who has given us the task. If God says to do it, we won’t fail! All we have to do is to be obedient. We don’t need more strength, more support, more help, more prayer, more, more…. anything! All we need to do is have faith in God and go do what He says, in the strength that we have.

1. Use what you have to do what God has called you to do!
2. Am I not sending you? – Trust God!

Prayer: Father God, when You tell me to do something, it will be successful! Ahmmm…..if I obey You. Father God I am the limiting factor. If I lack trust, lack faith, choose not to exercise my faith or, I don’t obey your instructions then I will fail. Father God I repent of my lack of trust, lack of faith and my disobedience.

I choose now to believe Your every word, and step out in faith with the little strength that I have to accomplish the task You have given me. Your word to me is all I need. In Your Name and authority, and with Your Holy Spirit I am more than a conqueror. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. My focus is on You Lord, and I KNOW that when I put my trust in You, You will use me to accomplish even the most difficult tasks.

I love You Lord. Thank You for choosing to use a weak person like me to point the world to You, and to show them how great You are. Help me to take my focus off of myself and to keep it on You Lord God, as I obediently go out in the strength that I have, in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
