Give Thanks for Your Spouse

By Andrew Williams

So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Ephesians 5:33 NLT

Good morning fellow disciples.

Do you give thanks to God for your spouse?

Wife, are you grateful for your husband? Husband, are you grateful for your wife?

The Word of God says: “This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.”
Genesis 2:24 NLT

Married people, you are no longer individuals. You are joined together by God. I know that every couple has issues in their marriage, but if you see yourselves as a unit with God as the focus of your marriage, you will learn to live together the way God requires.

As you live in obedience to God, remember that in God’s eyes you are equal partners as stated in 1 Peter 3:7 NLT:

In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

Be happy with your spouse:
Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you. Rejoice in the wife of your youth.
Proverbs 5:18 NLT

God has placed you together for His will to be done. Keep your focus on God. Continually seek Him in prayer as a couple.

Submit to God! Surrender to God! Obey God !

Continually pray for your partner and for your marriage. Do not become weary in prayer and working on your relationship, because the enemy is forever seeking opportunities to destroy your marriage.

Give thanks for your spouse!

Prayer: Father God, You instituted marriage and brought man and woman together in holy matrimony. This union is precious to You. We give You thanks for this, Lord.

Soften the hearts of hurting spouses today Lord, and remind them of Your will for their marriages. May they forgive and lift their praises to You, giving thanks for their spouse. Heal broken relationships Lord!

May those who are overflowing with joy continue to shout in thanksgiving for their spouses. Maintain sound relationships Lord!

May they all remember the words in Ephesians 5:33 NLT: So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Amen.
