“When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger!
Luke 15:17 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Home is defined as:
1. a house, apartment, or other shelter that is the usual residence of a person, family, or household.
2. the place in which one’s domestic affections are centered.
Do you have a place where you reside alone or with family?
Give thanks!
Is your place of residence that place where your domestic affections are centered?
Give thanks!
Or, are you like the young man in the passage who left his father’s house to live elsewhere? Is your heart longing for your familial home, because that’s where your domestic affections are centered?
We all know that popular saying: “Home is where the heart is.” You may be home right now, or you may be far away and longing to be there. Whatever your situation, rejoice in the fact that you have a place that you can call “home”!
Wherever your home is, today, give thanks to God for it!
Prayer: Father God, thank You for my family and the place that You have given us to live. It is because of the bonds that we share with each other and our relationship with You why this building is transformed into our home.
I cherish this place that has sheltered us and allowed us to be safe, as You have provided for our needs. Thank You Lord for my home! Amen.
Lord give us homes built upon the Savior, where Christ is Head and Counsellor and Guide.
Thank you Lord. Your “thank you” series is a wonderful and timely reminder that we have so many thinks to give God thanks for , if only we can take our minds off what we don’t have and see what we have.
