Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.
Colossians 4:6 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Do you give thanks for the conversations that you are involved in, that you witness, or that you hear about?
One of my favorite conversations in the Bible is the conversation between Jesus and the woman at Jacob’s well recorded in John 4:4-30. This conversation was gracious, attractive and filled with the right responses.
Both Jesus and the woman were honest, open, and transparent with each other. They were vulnerable with each other. On this foundation they were able to foster fellowship and relationship with each other.
The woman was vulnerable, willing to listen to Jesus and asked the relevant questions. We see Jesus telling her that He was the Messiah { one of the few times recorded that He actually revealed this explicitly}. This conversation led to the salvation of the woman and her community.
What a great conversation!
We have all had conversations that are life-changing. Some of these were with our friends, relatives, fellow disciples, or with total strangers. I am grateful for the conversations that I have had with these people.
No matter what you are going through today, take a moment to reflect on the good conversations that you have had. How did these impact your life and the lives of those that you conversed with?
Give thanks for these conversations!
Prayer: Father God, I thank You for the good conversations that I’ve had. Help me to be like You Lord Jesus, and let my conversations be gracious and attractive.
Thank You Lord for the persons who You have placed in my life who have impacted my life and whose lives I have impacted because of great conversations. Amen.
Amen
