1 Peter 3:16 NLT – But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.
Good morning fellow disciples.
When someone asks you about your hope as a believer and you begin to explain, do you do it in a gentle and respectful way?
Many of us have had the experience of being witnessed to in ways that made us feel condemned, unworthy, guilty, unloved, or manipulated into making a decision to be a disciple. Sometimes we were disrespected because we did not believe in Jesus, and at other times we were threatened with the result of going to hell if we did not convert.
But in this verse Peter tells us that we should be respectful and gentle when we witness about Jesus. Are you doing this?
Prayer: Father God, I will gently and respectfully present Your gospel. I will live in a manner that shows that I belong to Christ. May those whom I witness to accept You as their God because Of Your Word and Your Holy Spirit acting in their lives. Amen.
