How long, Lord, must I call for help and You do not listen or cry out to You about violence, and You do not save? Habakkuk 1:2 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
God’s prophet has been talking to Him, but it seems as if God wasn’t responding. So now Habakkuk pleads with God asking: “How long, Lord, must I call for help and You do not listen or cry out to You about violence, and You do not save?”
All Habakkuk had been seeing was violence, destruction, evil, and misery. The wicked was far outnumbering the righteous, and the justice system had been perverted. Habakkuk was crying out to God for help, but he was not getting an answer.
Habakkuk must have been frustrated! I would have been.
God doesn’t always answer us in the timing that we desire. Let us be persistent in prayer. God will answer, and His answer will far supersede our expectations.
Prayer: Father God, I continue to speak to You. I continue to bring requests to You. I continue to plead with You to intervene in my situation. It’s been a while now God. Why won’t You answer? How long will wait to intervene?
I am still waiting on You God, and I will continue to wait until You answer or show up. Amen
