“Greet Prisca [Priscilla] and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.” – 2 Timothy 4:19 (ESV)

Good morning fellow disciples.

2 Timothy 4:19 offers a final, poignant glimpse into the enduring faithfulness of Aquila and Priscilla. In one of his last letters, written during his final imprisonment in Rome, Paul sends greetings to Timothy, who is likely ministering in Ephesus, and includes a specific request: “Greet Prisca [Priscilla] and Aquila.” The very fact that Paul sends greetings to them indicates that Aquila and Priscilla were still actively involved in ministry, likely in or near Ephesus, after years of faithful service. This verse is a testament to their unwavering commitment, their resilient spirit, and their enduring presence in the work of the Gospel. They did not slow down nor retire. For them, it was all about redirecting their focus in building the Kingdom.

As a disciple, you are called to persevere in your faith, to remain faithful to your calling, and to continue serving God throughout your life, regardless of your circumstances or your stage of life. Aquila and Priscilla’s example reminds you that your influence, your wisdom, and your experience can be a valuable asset to the church, even in your later years. You are empowered to finish well, to leave a lasting legacy of faithfulness, and to inspire others to continue the work of the Gospel.

This week, reflect on your long-term commitment to serving God. Are you actively seeking ways to stay involved in ministry, to use your gifts, and to encourage others in their faith? Identify one step you can take to strengthen your commitment and to leave a lasting legacy of faithfulness.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to remain faithful to Your calling and to continue serving You throughout my life. Give me the strength to persevere through challenges, the wisdom to use my gifts, and the passion to inspire others. May my life be a testament to Your love, Your grace, and Your unwavering power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
