Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask.”
John 11:21-22 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Confess: to declare faith in or adherence to.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation that is so daunting that you could not see a way out?
Have you ever found yourself in a situation that is so distressing that you lashed out at the person that could help you?
In this verse Martha spoke the truth that she believed:
1. She believed that if Jesus had been present when Lazarus was sick, he could have healed him, and
2. She made her declaration of faith in her time of sorrow and possible anger at her master who had seemingly abandoned them; BUT EVEN NOW I KNOW THAT GOD WILL GIVE YOU WHATEVER YOU ASK!
Martha had faith not only for the simple but for the difficult!
She believed that Jesus could heal a simple illness.
She believed that Jesus could raise the dead.
She had faith in Jesus’ relationship with God the Father!
Do you have faith in God for the simple and the difficult?
Do you have the Godly faith that will accomplish anything?
Let your confessions be filled with faith!
Prayer: Father God, it may be unlikely or impossible for me to do, but I believe by faith that You can do it! I place my faith in You God to accomplish the impossible. Amen.
