Ephesians 4:26–27 NLT– And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
Good morning fellow disciples.
Are you angry?
As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are supposed to live sin free lives. We all undergo tests and temptations that can lead to sin. It is up to us to decide how we will respond to these trials and temptations.
In this verse we are commanded not to sin by letting anger control us. We can be angry, but we should not remain angry or allow it to dictate how we act.
What is your relationship with anger like? Do you:
- Entertain it,
- Foster it,
- Welcome it,
- Live by it,
- Encourage it,
- Submit to it,
- Dispel it, or
- Refuse to let it control you?
How you deal with anger will determine whether you end up sinning or not. Don’t let your emotions rule you. Choose wisely how you react, because your reaction will determine who you give control of your life.
Prayer: Father God, I am listening. I will not let anger control me. I will not remain angry and allow the devil to get a foothold in my life.
I will forgive those who anger me. I will let go of hurt and resentment. I will let You meet out vengeance. I will seek to live according to Your Word. Amen.
