Week 6: Predestination & Selection (The “Known” Prophet)
Anchor Scripture: “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” — Psalm 139:13–14 (NKJV)
The Teaching
When we speak of the “supernatural” office of the prophet, we often assume that God simply drops a gift on top of us that has nothing to do with who we are naturally. However, the sovereignty of God goes deeper than that. He did not just choose your spirit; He designed your “inward parts.” There is such a thing as Prophetic DNA—natural temperament and personality traits that God engineered into you to serve as the “hardware” for the prophetic “software.”
Consider the prophets of the Bible: Peter was naturally bold and impulsive, so God used those traits to make him a frontline apostolic prophet. Paul was naturally analytical and scholarly, so God used those traits to reveal the deep mysteries of the Gospel. Jeremiah was naturally sensitive and empathetic, which allowed him to carry the “weeping” heart of God.
God doesn’t bypass your personality; He sanctifies it. Those natural traits that you’ve had since you were a child—your ability to sense a “vibe” in a room, your natural bluntness, your refusal to settle for a lie, or your deep sensitivity to people’s pain—were not accidents. They were the raw materials of your calling. God wove your “fearfully and wonderfully made” personality together so that it would be the perfect vessel for the specific type of prophetic voice He wanted to release through you.
Prophetic Insight
Have people ever told you that you were “too much”? Too sensitive, too intense, too observant, or too uncompromising? Often, the things the world (and even the religious world) criticizes about your personality are actually the “shadows” of your prophetic DNA. Your “sensitivity” is actually the hardware for spiritual discernment. Your “intensity” is the hardware for divine zeal. When God calls a prophet, He doesn’t ask them to stop being who they are; He asks them to bring who they are to His altar so that those natural traits can be set on fire by the Holy Spirit.
The Activation
Think about three natural personality traits you have had since childhood that have often made you feel “different” or “out of place.” Today, instead of trying to “fix” or hide them, present them to God. Say, “Lord, I see that You designed my inward parts this way. I consecrate my personality to You. Show me how these natural traits are meant to function in my prophetic office.”
Daily Prayer: Lord God, I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I thank You that You didn’t make a mistake when You designed my personality. I yield my natural traits—my sensitivity, my boldness, and my perspective—to the Holy Spirit. Sanctify my DNA. Let the ‘hardware’ of my life be a perfect match for the ‘software’ of Your revelation. Use every part of who I am for Your glory. Amen.
