July 2, 2025

By Andrew Williams

“Greet Prisca [Priscilla] and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, who risked their necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks but all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks as well. Greet also the church in their house.” – Romans 16:3-5a (ESV)

Good morning fellow disciples.

Romans 16:3-5a provides a powerful testimony to the remarkable partnership between Paul, Aquila, and Priscilla. Writing to the Roman church, Paul sends greetings to this couple, describing them as “my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,” and highlighting their extraordinary courage and loyalty: “who risked their necks for my life.” He also notes that “not only I give thanks but all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks as well,” acknowledging the far-reaching impact of their ministry. The mention of “the church in their house” reinforces their continued commitment to hospitality and community. This passage underscores the value of sacrificial service, unwavering partnership, and a reputation for Christ that extends far beyond local boundaries.

As a disciple, you are called to be a co-laborer with Christ and with your fellow believers. Aquila and Priscilla’s example reminds you that partnership in ministry requires commitment, sacrifice, and a willingness to put others before yourself. You are empowered to use your gifts, your talents, and your resources to support the work of the Gospel and to stand alongside those who are laboring for the Kingdom of God.

This week, identify ways in which you can partner with others in ministry, offering your support, your encouragement, and your resources. Be willing to make sacrifices for the sake of the Gospel and to put the needs of others before your own. Seek to build relationships that are characterized by trust, loyalty, and a shared commitment to Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be a faithful and courageous co-laborer with You and with my fellow believers. Give me a heart of sacrifice and a willingness to put the needs of others before my own. Lead me to partnerships that are characterized by trust, loyalty, and a shared commitment to Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
