Conversations with Jesus at His Last Meal – Part 7

By Andrew Williams – September 27,2022

Solemnly and surely I tell you, I shall not again drink of the fruit of the vine till that day when I drink it of a new and a higher quality in God’s kingdom.
Mark 14:25 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

Jesus completes the covenant by making a promise. He will not drink any more wine until He does so in God’s Kingdom.

I just had a flashback to Jesus’ first miracle. He had turned water into wine and the wine was of a greater quality than what was being served before. Now as He prepared to give up His life as a sacrifice for us He ends His last meal with His disciples by partaking of a glass of wine.

He began His miraculous ministry by providing better quality wine, He ends his last meal with His disciples by stating that He will not have wine again until it’s of a greater quality in God’s Kingdom.

As we look at the fact that He gave this one to them stating that it was His blood that was being poured out for many, could it be that when He came back to life the blood that would be in Him would be of a greater quality because it had paid the price for all humanity?

Prayer: Father God, everything in Your Kingdom is of a new and a higher quality. Lord, I long to partake of the things in Your Kingdom. I will live fully surrendered and submitted to You. I will obediently serve You forever. Amen.

  1. The blood of Jesus would have replaced that of all other animals that were used to offer sacrifice for sin.
Jesus offered Himself ONCE FOR ALL.
