He also took a cup [of the juice of grapes], and when He had given thanks, He gave [it] to them, and they all drank of it. Mark 14:23 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
Can you imagine receiving something from someone in good faith to eat or drink and having drank it they said something like this to you: ” This is My blood [which ratifies] the new covenant, [the blood] which is being poured out for (on account of) many.”
What would be going through your mind?
1. Oh my God, I just drank blood!
2. What does he mean by it ratifies the New Covenant?
3. What New covenant is he talking about?
4. What does he mean by his blood is being poured out for many?
Mark 14:24 AMPC: “And He said to them, This is My blood [which ratifies] the new covenant, [the blood] which is being poured out for (on account of) many.”
In doing this Jesus was once again speaking about His death but now He gave the disciples the significance of what was about to happen. His body would be beaten and broken for our healing. His blood would be shed for the payment for our salvation.
They didn’t understand it at the time but as these events would unfold over the next 24 hours they would come to the full understanding of what Jesus’ words meant.
Do you understand that Jesus paid the full price for your salvation, healing, and deliverance from the devil?
If you do, have you accepted Jesus’ sacrifice for your freedom?
If you haven’t yet accepted Jesus as your lord and savior, will you do so today?
All you have to do is believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He paid the price for your redemption, accept Him as your Lord and savior and speak out loud what you believe in your heart.
