Conversations with Jesus at His Last Meal – Part 3

By Andrew Williams – September 23, 2022

And they began to show that they were sad and hurt, and to say to Him one after another, Is it I? or, It is not I, is it? Mark 14:19 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

Do you always have joyous conversations with God?Are you not sad and hurt by the things that God sometimes says to you?

Why are you hurt and sad?

1. Is it because God says something opposite to your desires?

2. Is it because He points out your sins?

3. Is it because He is chastising you?

4. Is it because God’s revelation is so pure that in light of it you see how filthy you are? Or,

5. Did His Word reveal that you would lose someone or something precious?

“He replied to them, It is one of the Twelve [apostles], one who is dipping [bread] into the [same deep] dish with Me.” Mark 14:20 AMPC

The disciples were sad and hurt because Jesus said one of them would betray Him. Even worse, it was one of the apostles whom Jesus had chosen to be very close to Him.

Let us learn these important lessons:

1. God knows the intentions of our hearts, and

2. No matter how close God wants us to be Him, we can all betray Him.
