And Jesus said, I AM; and you will [all] see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power (the Almighty) and coming on the clouds of heaven. [Ps. 110:1; Dan. 7:13.] Mark 14:62 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
The high priest asked:”Are You the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), the Son of the Blessed?”
Jesus answered: “I AM!”
Jesus was given the direct question and He gave the truthful answer. He knew what this would mean. This was The statement that would cause them to condemn Him and to put Him to death. Nothing they had done or said before could condemn Him, so why did Jesus answer this question in a manner that He knew would bring about His death.
The answer as we already know is found in John 10:17-18 HCSB:
“This is why the Father loves Me, because I am laying down My life so I may take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have the right to lay it down, and I have the right to take it up again. I have received this command from My Father.”
Jesus answered in this way so that He could give up His life for us!
After Jesus answered with the”I AM”, He went on to say:
“and you will [all] see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power (the Almighty) and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
Rub it in them eyes Jesus! Dash it in them face!
There was nothing that they could do to You without Your permission, and they would see the truth both now and in the future. They had no power over You then, and they would never have power over You ever!
You have proclaimed it! You have prophesied it and, they will have to acknowledge You as King over all God’s creation!
