Conversations at Gethsemane – Part 7

Keep awake and watch and pray [constantly], that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Mark 14:38 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

Most of us will agree that the time that we feel most tempted is when we are about to pray or while we are praying. Jesus’ warning holds true for us today. We need to keep awake and, watch and pray constantly so that we do not enter into temptation!

The more we focus while we pray the less likely we are to yield to temptation. We need to be alert to the devices of the devil while we are in prayer. We need to pray more so that we will develop the good habit of spending quality time with God, while defeating the devil.

The spirit is indeed willing, but our human nature is not when it comes to prayer.

We strengthen our spirit by continuing in prayer, and we defeat our fleshly nature as we focus on God during and after our prayer sessions.

Are you strong when it comes to prayer?

Have you been defeating your flesh?

Is your spirit, soul, and flesh fully submitted to the Spirit of God who lives within you?

KEEP AWAKE AND WATCH AND PRAY CONSTANTLY, THAT YOU MAY NOT ENTER INTO TEMPTATION!
