Conversations at Gethsemane – Part 14

By Andrew Williams – October 16, 2022

And when he came, he went up to Jesus immediately and said, Master! Master! and he embraced Him and kissed Him fervently. Mark 14:45 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

We all need to be aware that not everyone in our inner circle is for us. Sometimes one or more persons are there to see what they can gain for themselves or to manipulate us into getting what they want.

Sometimes these persons are the closest ones to us. Sometimes we will not know until it is too late that they are not for us. Sometimes we know their character and we try to help them change to be better persons.

Jesus already knew that Judas was going to betray Him. He made it clear to Judas that He knew, and He said it in front of the other disciples. Even though this had been done, the disciples did not understand what would be happening until it was too late.

Note how Judas came to Jesus:

1. Because of their relationship he had direct access to Jesus and could come up to Him without being stopped.

2. He exuberantly cried out Master, Master!

3. He kissed Him fervently! {On a side note, can you imagine that the last person who kissed you in life was the person who betrayed you to the devil?}

Who are you walking with?

Who are you sharing your life with?

Who knows your secrets?

Who has easy access to every aspect of your life?

What is your relationship with God like? Are you listening to God Almighty as He directs you along the path of life? If you are, you will know that some people who are working with you are not for you. Some persons who you share your life with and give access to have no intention of serving God or walking along with you in the kingdom of God.

What should you do?

Be like Jesus: fully surrender, fully submit, and be fully obedient to God the Father!
