I went on praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people, pleading with the Lord my God for Jerusalem, his holy mountain.
Daniel 9:20 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Confess: to unburden one’s sins or the state of one’s conscience to God or to a priest.
Who are you praying for? What situation occupies most of the time in your prayer life? What is the burden on your heart when you pray?
Are you praying for family, friends, your church members, or your community? Are you seeing the results and the answers to your prayers?
Many of us repent on our own behalf and then we start praying, but do we think to repent on behalf of those that we are praying for?
In this verse we see Daniel confessing not only his sin but also the sins of his community before he petitioned God on their behalf. Are you doing that?
Even though we know that God knows everything about us, we need to unburden our sins and the sins of our communities before God. Let us do this today. When we have totally unburdened not only our sins but also the sins of our communities, let us pray for them and plead with God for our complete deliverance.
Prayer: Father God, I have sinned, my church has sinned, my family, my community, and my country have sinned. I ask You to forgive us Lord.
{I will give a more detailed and comprehensive listing of our sins outside of this devotional. It’s my prayer that those who will confess on behalf of those that they are praying for will also do the same.}
I ask You Lord to now: heal us, deliver us, and save us. Amen.
