Lord, we confess our wickedness and that of our ancestors, too. We all have sinned against you.
Jeremiah 14:20 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Confess: to unburden one’s sins or the state of one’s conscience to God or to a priest.
What type of society do you live in? Is it one that is marked by sin and sinful practices?
Our societies are shaped by the decisions that we make and also by the decisions of our ancestors. If our ancestors have all turned away from God and have been living in a sinful way, our society will be one that does not respect or obey God.
If we want to change our society which includes our homes, our churches, our schools, and our institutions we need to get rid of sinful practices. The first step in doing this is recognizing our sins and those of our ancestors.
The second step is to confess our sins to God and ask Him to cleanse us, and our society of all unrighteousness.
We then need to put into practice the things that are Godly so that our society can change.
Is your church or home full of wickedness because of the sins of your ancestors and yourself?
Confess your combined sins! Repent, turn away from these sinful practices and start living the way that God requires.
Unburden yourself and become a catalyst for the change that is needed.
Prayer: Father God, as a people we have sinned. We confess our sin of disobedience to You, Your will, and to Your way. Forgive us Lord and cleanse us and our society of the wickedness that we have perpetrated.
Teach us how we should live and we will obey starting now. Help us to live like our Lord Jesus Christ, and help us to show others how to live so that our society can become a part of the Kingdom of God. Amen.
