Confess and Pray

By Andrew Williams

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
James 5:16 NLT
Confess and Pray

Good morning fellow disciples.

Confess: to unburden one’s sins or the state of one’s conscience to God or to a priest

Do you love your fellow disciples? Do you love your family, those you work with, and the members of your community?

If you are a disciple of Christ who is burdened down by sin, you need to follow what John says in this verse. You need to confess your sin, unburden your sin and the state of your conscience before God and others, so that you can effectively pray for others.

Jesus says that there is no greater love than when a man lays down his life for his friends. Are you willing to lay down your life for your friends?

God loves a pure sacrifice.
“The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.” Psalms 51:17 NLT

Confess, repent, and then seek God on behalf of your loved ones.

Once you’re in right standing with God, your prayer will bring about healing for your fellow disciples, family, friends, and community. Your prayer will become more effective!

Prayer: Father God, I have been confessing my sins to You and I know that You have forgiven me. My fellow disciples, I ask you to forgive me of the sins that I have committed against you and for the sins that I have committed against others.

Thank you for hearing this simple confession and for forgiving me.

So now, my fellow disciples:
Be healed in Jesus’ name;
Be free in Jesus’ name; and
Be made whole in Jesus’ name!

Amen.
