Church Conduct

1 Timothy 3:15 – ‘but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.’

By Andrew Williams

Good morning fellow disciples.

Do you know how you should conduct yourself in the Church of God?

The Apostle Paul had left Timothy in Ephesus to oversee the church there. In his first letter to him, Paul sets the framework for conduct within the church. He spoke to Timothy about how Timothy should act, how they should worship, and how the different church members, no matter what level of leadership they were at, should carry themselves.

The purpose for Paul giving them this instruction was that all the believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith. He wanted their lives to reflect that of Jesus Christ and to be pleasing to God.

How are you conducting yourself in the body of Christ?

Remember that we are the Church of the living God, the pillar, and support of the truth.

Prayer: Father God, I have examined myself today. I realized that I am not conducting myself in ways that would totally please You. For where I am failing God, I repent! For where I am doing well, help me to do even better.

For where I lack knowledge or am I ignorant, enlighten me, God. Teach me Lord. I will obey You and conduct myself in a way that is pleasing to You! Amen.
