Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
Romans 8:34 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Intercede: to intervene between parties with a view to reconciling differences; mediate; to plead on someone else’s behalf; or intervene on behalf of another.
Have you ever been called by your parents to answer to something that you did or did not do? Were you told to keep quiet while they heard the accusations about you? Did you look to your parents and recognized the love that they have for you?
Even though you may have been guilty, did one of your parent’s plead on your behalf? You did not have to say a word in your own defense!
This is similar to the scene in Romans 8:31-34 NLT:
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these?
If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us?
No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
My fellow disciples:
God is for us!
God sacrificed His best for us!
God has chosen us as His own!
God has placed us into right standing with Himself!
Christ Jesus, who died and was raised to life for us, is pleading for us!
We have a God who loves us, who sacrificed His Son for us, and a Savior who is pleading/interceding on our behalf. No accuser or opponent will be able to defeat us because of our Father and His Son!
Prayer: Thank You Lord Jesus for interceding on our behalf with Father God. Because of You we are redeemed. When we do sin, You plead our cases to Father God. We love You Lord Jesus. Help us to live holy as You are holy, I pray amen.
