Good morning fellow disciples.
Have you ever noticed how the world often revolves around the idea of “me, me, me”?
We’re bombarded with messages that tell us to focus on our own needs, to chase our own desires. But amidst this self-centered clamor, God whispers a different message: a message of love, of humility, of putting others first.
Mark 10:42-45 paints a powerful picture: “Jesus called them together and said, ‘You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all.’ For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Jesus, the King of Kings, chose to live a life of service, humbling himself to serve others, even to the point of death. He set the ultimate example of servant leadership, showing us that true greatness is found in serving others.
Galatians 5:13 reminds us, “You were called to freedom, brothers and sisters. But do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”
We are all uniquely gifted by God, with passions and talents that can be used to serve others. Take some time to reflect on your strengths, your interests, and the ways you feel drawn to help others. What brings you joy? Where do you see a need?
1 Peter 4:10 encourages us: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Serving isn’t a one-time event; it’s a lifestyle. It’s about integrating service into the fabric of our daily lives, finding opportunities to bless others in big and small ways. It’s about being a light in the world, reflecting God’s love and compassion to those around us.
Are you serving the Lord and serving others with your gifts and talents?
Choose to serve, just like Jesus did!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help us to embrace a life of service, following Your example of humility and love. Open our hearts to see the needs of others and guide us in using our gifts to bless them. May we find joy in serving You and others, knowing that true greatness is found in giving ourselves away. Amen.
Lord prepare us to be your witness.
