Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life.
John 3:14-15 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Submit is defined as: to permit oneself to be subjected to something.
Jesus came to this earth to live a life that was pleasing to God, to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God, and to give His life as a sacrifice, so that those of us who believe in Him would have eternal life!
Jesus was in the form of God but decided to submit Himself to the Father and take on the form of a human being. He gave up His authority and power to live in this world. He preached the good news of the Kingdom of God so that we would know what it meant to live the God ordained life.
And finally, He gave up His life so that we could be saved.
When snakes were running rampant throughout the Israelite camp, God instructed Moses to make a snake and place it on a cross. Whoever looked at that snake on the cross was healed from the deadly snake bites.
Similarly, Jesus was crucified on a cross and whoever looks to Him in faith will receive eternal life. Looking to Him in faith means that you believe that He is the Son of God, that He died for our sins, and that He is resurrected, and is at the right hand of God.
All of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and our savior have received eternal life.
If Jesus did not submit to the will of Father God, we would never be saved!
What is God asking you to submit to Him today?
Will your submission help others to receive eternal life?
Prayer: Father God, we are so grateful that Jesus submitted to You. Because of Him we have eternal life. We are your children, and we also want to submit to You so that others will come to know You as Lord, Savior, and King.
We give our lives to You Lord! Whatever You ask of us, we will do, so that others will receive salvation. Amen.
