Good morning fellow disciples.
To choose means: “to select freely and after consideration, to have a preference for, or to take an alternative”. The question that we always have to answer is this, ” When I am faced with a choice, what will I choose to do?”
“As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Remain in My love. If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love. John 15:9-10 HCSB
God the Father loves God the Son. God the Son loves us. This is the choice that both of them have made. Some people say that love is not a choice, and I’m not sure if I can prove them wrong. What these verses tell us is that we should remain in the love of the person that is giving it to us. How do we do this?
Jesus states that He remained in His Father’s love when He kept His commands. He also implored us to remain in the love that He, Jesus, shows to us by obeying His commands. The choice that Jesus had to make was to obey His Father’s commands. The choice that we have to make is to obey Jesus’ command.
The question today is, “Will you choose to accept Jesus’ love, and obey His commands, and remain in His love?”
Prayer: Father God, Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me and thank You for showing me how to remain in Your love. I will Obey Your every command so that I can be forever in Your love. Amen
