Then he said to me, “This is what the LORD says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. Zechariah 4:6 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Zerubbabel was governor of Judah when the first exiled Jews came back from Babylon to their homeland. He was entrusted with overseeing the rebuilding of the temple. Despite his leadership, Zerubbabel faced challenges with opposition from neighboring rulers and periods of construction delays.
In this verse we see God telling Zechariah the prophet that it wasn’t by force or strength that Zerubbabel would achieve the rebuilding of the temple, but it was by God’s Holy Spirit.
Fellow disciple, what are you trying to achieve for God? What task or ministry do you have to perform?
Sometimes you may get discouraged by the opposition that you are facing. But take heart and remember that it is not by strength or power, but by God’s Holy Spirit that you will fulfill what God has called you to do.
It is God’s Holy Spirit who empowers us to be effective witnesses, to preach the gospel with signs and wonders following, and to live lives that are pleasing to God.
Prayer: Father God, I am willing to be used by You. Lord Jesus, thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit to be with us. Holy Spirit, I know that everything that I do for God and for His Kingdom is because it is You who is working through me.
So today, I surrender to You completely. Work in and through me to advance Your Kingdom here on earth. Amen.
