Broken

Scripture : My [only] sacrifice [acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart [broken with sorrow for sin, thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise. Psalms 51:17 AMP

Observation : Sometimes we may wonder why God allows us to go through hardships or why He breaks us. But according to this passage and the Bible in general the only person that the Lord accepts is someone who is humble.
When we are thoroughly penitent/broken with sorrow for sin, then we truly become humble. That’s when God will accept us totally.

Application : I repent of my sins. I come to God humble and with a broken spirit so that He will accept me.

Prayer : Father God I am a sinner, and even though I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior there are times when I don’t do what You say. Forgive me. I repent and turn away from my sins, and I come to You now Lord broken and humble. Please hear my cry and accept my sacrifice I pray, in Jesus’ Name , amen.
