Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices.
Acts of the Apostles 19:18 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
To confess means to admit or acknowledge something, typically something that one feels guilty or ashamed about. It involves openly admitting a wrongdoing, a mistake, or a fault.
The verse says that many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. It did not say that many who confessed their sins became believers.
This shows us at believers can still have sinful practices. They may be new believers or believers who have been trying to follow Christ for a long time. The time period is not what is important. What is important is that they knew that their heart condition was wrong and they came and publicly confessed their sinful practices.
Not only did they confess, but they made steps to destroy all the things that they used to indulge in while they were sinful.
Are you a believer who is still carrying out sinful practices?
Are you hiding these sinful practices?
The longer you keep hiding these sinful practices, the longer you will remain a slave to them.
Believer, confess your sinful practices!
Believer, repent, turn away from the lifestyle that keeps you from serving God fully!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. You paid the price for my redemption and because of You I am saved. I however have not given up some of the sinful practices that I used to indulge in before I believed in You.
I confess these sinful practices and I ask You to forgive me. I will destroy everything, and sever every relationship that has kept me from serving You wholeheartedly. Amen.
