“Go,” Jesus told him, “your son will live.” The man believed what Jesus said to him and departed.
John 4:50 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Do you trust Jesus to be faithful to His word? Have you ever asked Him for something, and then kept on asking even when you heard a response from Him? How strong is your faith in God? When Jesus tells you to do something do you do it without questioning Him?
This man came to Jesus asking Him to heal his child. Jesus did not ask him to bring his child to Him. He did not ask the man to take Him to see the child. All Jesus did was say, “go your child will live!”
The man believed what Jesus said to him and departed. Oh, what faith!
Sometimes I hear God speaking to me through His Holy Spirit, and honestly, I keep on asking the same question repeatedly. This is because I’m looking for some sort of assurance that He will do what He says He will do. As I look at this verse, I realize that my faith and my belief in God are not like that of the man in this passage.
How about you? Do you believe God when He speaks?
Prayer: Father God, help me to be like the man in this passage. Help me to hear Your word and to promptly believe and act on Your word. I love You God, but sometimes I want assurance. Forgive me for not trusting You wholeheartedly.
Remove unbelief from me I pray, and fill me with faith, unwavering faith in You. I ask this in Jesus’ name, amen.
Lord, please help my unbelief.
