“But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us the good news of your faith and love and reported that you always remember us kindly and long to see us, as we long to see you—” – 1 Thessalonians 3:6 (ESV)
Good morning fellow disciples.
1 Thessalonians 3:6 shines a spotlight on Timothy’s faithfulness and the joy his return brought to Paul. Timothy arrives from Thessalonica, bearing “the good news of your faith and love.” He reports that the Thessalonians “always remember us kindly and long to see us,” a message that deeply encouraged Paul and Silas. Timothy’s role as a messenger highlights the importance of clear communication, the value of encouragement, and the power of positive relationships in sustaining ministry.
As a disciple, you are called to be a bearer of good news, a messenger of hope, and a source of encouragement to those around you. Timothy’s example reminds you that your words have power – they can build up or tear down, they can inspire or discourage, they can bring joy or sorrow. Choose to use your words to share the Gospel, to offer encouragement, and to uplift those who are in need of hope.
This week, be intentional about the messages you are sending to others. Choose to speak words of kindness, encouragement, and hope. Share good news, offer praise, and express appreciation. Let your words be a blessing to those around you and a reflection of Christ’s love.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be a bearer of good news, a messenger of hope, and a source of encouragement to those around me. Give me the wisdom to choose my words carefully, so that they may be a blessing to others and a reflection of your love. May my life be a testament to your grace and may I lead others to discover the joy of knowing you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
