For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
1 Peter 1:16 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
WORD is defined as the expressed or manifested mind and will of God.
According to this verse, God’s expressed will is for us to be holy.
Holy is defined as: having a spiritually pure quality; exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness.
The reason that we need to be holy is because God is holy. The persons that Peter is speaking to are persons who are children of God. These are persons who are born of the Spirit of God. Because we are new creations, we need to live like the person who created us.
God is Holy! As sons and daughters of God, we also need to be holy.
Are you spiritually pure because of your new birth in Christ?
Are you living a life that is perfect in goodness and righteousness?
If Jesus lived a holy life as a human being because He had the Holy Spirit of God in Him, can’t you do the same?
My fellow disciple, it is possible to live a holy life! Examine yourself today and see what you need to change in order to live the holy life that God desires of you.
Let us be holy because God our Father is Holy!
Prayer: Father God, Your WORD says that I must be Holy. I will be holy, through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
Follow peace with all men, and holiness without which no man shall see The Lord.
