And as they were sailing across the lake, Jesus repeatedly warned them, “Be on your guard against the yeast inside of the Pharisees and the yeast inside of Herod!”

Good morning fellow disciples.
Look around you. Who do you see? Are these persons who you can trust or should you be wary of them?
In this passage we see Jesus telling His disciples to be on guard against the Pharisees and the Herodians. Specifically He is warning them to be on guard against the yeast inside them. Be on guard against their teachings, and the things of their lives that can become a part of you.
Look around you again! Are the persons you are in contact with daily persons who Jesus would tell you to be on your guard against?
Look at your church members, leaders, teachers and, pastors. Would Jesus warn you to be on guard against them?
Look at yourself! Would Jesus warn others to be on guard against you?
Jesus repeatedly warned them! This suggests that the problem that these people posed was persistent. Persons who have ideologies that oppose the kingdom of God are a persistent threat to us my fellow disciples.
Let us be on guard against all who oppose the teachings of the Lord!
Let us encourage each other to heed Jesus’ warning. Let us keep our focus on God, His teachings, His Kingdom and, being His ambassadors here on earth.
Prayer: Father God, help us to keep our focus on You. Help us to fulfill the role of being Your kingdom ambassadors. Help us to be wise by relying on Your Word. Show us who to be on guard against so that we can also warn our fellow disciples. Amen
