After John was arrested, Jesus went to Galilee, preaching the good news of God: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe in the good news! ”
Mark 1:14-15 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus by preaching that the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand and that persons should repent. Now that John the Baptist has been imprisoned Jesus takes over the mission.
Jesus preaches the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Unlike John who preached that someone would come Jesus preaches that He is the one. Through His preaching, teaching, and miraculous acts He showed everyone what the Kingdom of God really was.
We have been commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ to go into all the world to preach the gospel. Preach is defined as: to publicly proclaim or teach.
Are you publicly proclaiming to, or teaching others about God?
It’s not hard to do. All you have to do is tell someone about who God is and what He has done for us.
We noticed that after John was imprisoned that Jesus went to the region of Galilee and started preaching.
Is it your time to take up the mantle from someone else?
Is it time for you to proclaim the Word of God?
Prayer: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe in the good news! ” Father God, help me to proclaim this good news to everyone that I see.
It is time for me to to step out in faith and publicly proclaim and teach Your Word. I will do as Jesus commands. I will preach the gospel in His power and authority. Use me to change the world the way that Jesus and His disciples did. Amen
I am going to be like Jesus, with His help I’m going to preach the gospel
