Be Like Jesus – Look Out For Children

The parents kept bringing their little children to Jesus so that he would lay his hands on them and bless them. But the disciples kept rebuking and scolding the people for doing it. When Jesus saw what was happening, he became indignant with his disciples and said to them, “Let all the little children come to me and never hinder them! Don’t you know that God’s kingdom exists for such as these?
Mark 10:13‭-‬14 TPT

Good morning fellow disciples.

With tears welling up in my eyes, my mind flashes back to the many children I have seen who have been hindered by “well intentioned disciples ” from being baptized. These misguided disciples also keep them from participating in church, preaching, teaching, witnessing, or asking questions in bible studies.

They don’t allow them to express their faith in God because of their age or their childlike behavior.

What is God saying to us when He sees us stifling these little ones fellowship, growth and their potential to be His faithful witnesses?

Let all the little children come to me and never hinder them! Don’t you know that God’s kingdom exists for such as these?

They have the same potential and ability to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as we do!

Everything we can learn, they can learn too!

Every method of witnessing we can perfect, they can too!

Everything we know to do and are not doing because of our lukewarm faith, they can do better because of their child like faith!

Prayer: Father God, like the disciples I have spent many years in Your presence but did not really understand Your heart. I did not understand Your purpose for me and others. I did not understand You!

Even though I am educated in the things of the world, I was unlearned in the things of Your Kingdom. I had to learn from scratch, just like a little child. It was only when I humbled myself and came to You with childlike faith that true understanding of Your word and fellowship with You really began.

Help me not to hinder children from coming to You and serving You the way that You require them to. Amen
