That same day, after it grew dark, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross over to the other side of the lake.” Leaving the crowd behind, the disciples got into the boat in which Jesus was already sitting, and they took him with them. Other boats sailed with them.
Mark 4:35-36 TPT
Good morning fellow disciples.
After a time of ministry, sometimes it’s good for you to leave the crowd behind so that you can spend time with your disciples, and spend time with God. Serving others is great, however, you need to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes He will lead you away from where you are currently ministering to others for reasons unknown to you.
In this passage Jesus left the crowd that He was ministering to, to go to the other side of the sea. He did not say why He was going, and we don’t even know if He knew why He was going. But what we do know is that He was obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes we feel that we need to stay where the crowd is, but is this what God is telling us to do?
Sometimes we leave the crowd behind to get rest, but sometimes we find ourselves in other situations where other person need us.
Sometimes we leave the crowd behind because we need to spend time with our family and our close church members.
Sometimes we leave the crowd behind because we need to be alone with God.
Whether the reason is known or unknown, let us be obedient to God’s Holy Spirit and leave the crowd behind so we can then fulfill another aspect of ministry.
Prayer: Father God, I am leaving the crowd behind. I love ministering to them, but I am hearing you telling me to leave them behind to go and do something else. I am Your obedient son, and even though I love serving them, I know that You have something else in store for me.
As I seek to spend time with You and my fellow disciples, help us to draw closer to You, help us to be more surrendered to You, help us to hear Your voice more clearly, and help us to do what You have called us to do “on the other side of the sea”. Amen.
In this christian journey, relationship with God and man along wirh obedience are virtues to be demonstrated daily.
Sometimes we have to leave the crowd behind just to be alone with God. Amen 🙌🙏
