Good morning fellow disciples.
Are you my brothers and sisters? Am I your brother? Are we really members of the same family?
We love to sing this chorus:
“I’m so glad I’m a part of the Family of God,
I’ve been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I’m part of the family,
The Family of God.” Written by Bill Gaither
As members of the same family we need to be one according to Jesus’ teaching. What did He say in this verse? He said that those who obey God {does the will of God} are His brother, His sister, and His mother.
Are we members of the same family?
1. Am I doing the will of God?
2. Are you doing the will of God?
If we both are, then we belong to the same family and I can call you my brother or sister.
Do you want to be like Jesus and have a Godly family?
Well first you have to obey God, and second you have to fellowship with other persons who are obedient to God.
The third thing to do is to convert and disciple other persons so that they also will be doing the will of God. This is how we get our family to grow.
Prayer: Father God, I want to be a member of Your family. I will be obedient to You and I will teach others to be obedient to You. Help me to live my life the way that the Lord Jesus Christ did. Help me to see those who are not members of my biological family as part of my family because we all are Your children through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
