And before he had finished speaking, people arrived from Jairus’ house and pushed through the crowd to give Jairus the news: “There’s no need to trouble the master any longer—your daughter has died.” But Jesus refused to listen to what they were told and said to the Jewish official, “Don’t yield to fear. All you need to do is to keep on believing.”
Mark 5:35-36 TPT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Sometimes what we see can cause us to waiver in our faith. Sometimes what we hear can cause us to doubt. But what we need to do is to focus on God, who He is, what He has said, and who He has placed in us.
Jairus came to Jesus so that He could heal his daughter and keep her from dying. This was something he probably believed that Jesus could do. But then the news came that his daughter had died. What could Jesus do now?
Surely it was too late for the master to do anything at this point in time. The persons who came with the news thought that Jesus could do nothing more, and they encouraged Jairus to leave Jesus alone.
But Jesus had faith that the child would be raised from the dead. And He spoke to Jairus telling him, “Don’t yield to fear. All you need to do is to keep on believing.”
Fear is the opposite of faith. It kills everything that we need to be done. Faith, on the other hand, brings to reality what we need to be done. All we need to do is keep on believing in spite of what we have seen or heard.
Jesus encouraged Jairus to continue having faith. When Jesus went to his house, in the presence of Jairus and his wife, He raised their daughter from the dead. This was after He put out all the persons who did not believe that He could raise the child from the dead.
Today, I encourage you to build the faith of others. Don’t let them yield to fear. And, as you encourage their faith, do what is needed to keep them believing in Almighty God and His power to save, heal, and deliver.
Amen. Faith as small as a mustard see can move mountain. Hallelujah
