Then a man with a serious skin disease came to Him and, on his knees, begged Him: “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out His hand and touched him. “I am willing,” He told him. “Be made clean.” Immediately the disease left him, and he was healed.
Mark 1:40-42 HCSB
Good morning fellow disciples.
Compassion: sympathetic consciousness of others’ distress together with a desire to alleviate it.
Jesus saw the distress that this man was in because of his terrible skin disease. The man pleaded with Jesus to heal him. Jesus’ desire was to heal the man and He fulfilled this desire by compassionately healing him.
Jesus ACTUALLY TOUCHED this man who was classified as an outcast and unclean because of his disease!
Would you be willing to touch someone who is unclean and in so doing you would be classified as unclean also?
Do you have compassion for persons who are in need?
How do you show that compassion to them?
Prayer: Father God, help me to be compassionate like Jesus. Help me to not only see the needs of others but give me the desire to fill those needs. Help me to love persons the way that You require and desire. Provide for me so that I can provide for them.
I will speak Your Word so that they may be saved, healed, and delivered. Work miracles and healing through me for those who are in need of Your supernatural touch. Amen
