Ask God Where You Should Live

By Andrew Williams

After this, David asked the Lord, “Should I move back to one of the towns of Judah?” “Yes,” the Lord replied. Then David asked, “Which town should I go to?” “To Hebron,” the Lord answered.
2 Samuel 2:1 NLT

Good morning fellow disciples.

Petition: something asked or requested, an earnest request.

Are you thinking about where you should live? Are you thinking about buying a house, building a house, or renting an apartment?

Have you spoken to your family, friends, or real estate agent about the best place to live that suits your budget? Is your mind set on the place/community that you have always desired to live in?

In this passage we don’t see David consulting any of those persons. He spoke to one person about his decision to move!

He asked God if it was time to move!

He asked God where he should move to, including the general area and the specific town!

Do you consult God when you are thinking about choosing where to live?

Do you ask Him all the questions that you need in order for God to show you exactly where to move to, and when to make the move?

Let us be like David who placed all the decision making into God’s hands.

Trust God to give you the perfect place to live.

Prayer: Father God, I want to make a move. Show me where to go and when to go. Amen.

  1. There are so many important, life changing decisions that we make and do not consult the Omniscient God. So much pain, frustration and turmoil could have been avoided. Sorry Lord, me sorry ! Forgive me!!!!!!
