And as they were coming back down the mountain, He admonished and expressly ordered them to tell no one what they had seen until the Son of Man should rise from among the dead. So they carefully and faithfully kept the matter to themselves, questioning and disputing with one another about what rising from among the dead meant.
Mark 9:9-10 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
Transfigure: to change the appearance of a person or thing very much, usually in a very positive and often spiritual way.
As you reflect on your encounters with God and the messengers in His Kingdom, sometimes you need to keep what you have experienced to yourselves.
As we discuss and converse with God about our many encounters let us be obedient to His instructions. In today’s passage we see Jesus telling the disciples to keep what happened to themselves. They saw and heard, but still did not fully understand what happened.
Sometimes our encounters with God leaves us in the position where we have more questions than answers. Sometimes our encounters with God are just for us, and we do not need to share them with the world.
There are many things that God kept secret from us until Jesus came. There are many things Jesus kept secret from His disciples until they were ready to hear. There are many things that Jesus told His disciple that He kept secret from the general public. And there are revelations that God gave to His prophets that He told to them to keep secret.
Can you be obedient to God and keep the revelations He has told you to keep secret?
Prayer: Father God, I will not be quick to share every experience I have had with You with others. I will continue our conversation so that I will know what to share and what to keep secret. Help me to be Your faithful witness, I pray, amen.
I thank God for the new lessons revealed from the transfiguration story.
