A Silent Conversation Observed By Jesus Part 2

By Andrew Williams – August 17, 2022

Summoning His disciples, He said to them, “I assure you: This poor widow has put in more than all those giving to the temple treasury. For they all gave out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she possessed — all she had to live on.”
Mark 12:43‭-‬44 HCSB

Good morning fellow disciples.

Discernment is the ability to recognize small details, accurately tell the difference between similar things, and make intelligent judgments by using such observations.

Having observed the “silent” conversations between these givers and God, Jesus calls His disciples and teaches them from His observations.

There were two classes of people that Jesus observed: Those who gave out of their surplus to the Lord, and the one who gave all that she had to the Lord.

What type of giver are you?

Do you give from all that you need to survive or from what you don’t really need?

God has called all of us to serve Him. The areas of service or ministry may differ. Some of us will be called upon to give up everything that we know or have, while others may be able to serve without giving up everything.

If you are told to give up everything in order to fulfill God’s calling on your life, will you give yourself totally to God?

Will you give up a relationship, job, possessions, leave your family, leave your country, etc, in order to serve?

Will you be the “offering “?

Prayer: Lord God, I offer myself to You. I give up everything to be Your disciple and to serve You. Nothing and no one can satisfy me the way You do. Like David I say:

God, You are my God; I eagerly seek You. I thirst for You; my body faints for You in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water. So I gaze on You in the sanctuary to see Your strength and Your glory. My lips will glorify You because Your faithful love is better than life. So I will praise You as long as I live; at Your name, I will lift up my hands. You satisfy me as with rich food; my mouth will praise You with joyful lips.” Psalms 63:1‭-‬5 HCSB

Amen.

  1. If the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

  2. I would like to thank you for the efforts you have put in penning this website. I really hope to check out the same high-grade content from you later on as well. In truth, your creative writing abilities has motivated me to get my very own site now 😉
