The apostles said to the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith.”
Luke 17:5 NLT
Good morning fellow disciples.
Petition: something asked or requested, an earnest request.
Do you want to increase your faith?
Do you think that by having greater faith you will be able to do greater things in the Kingdom of God?
I believe that this was what the disciples were thinking. What was Jesus’ response to this petition?
The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you! Luke 17:6 NLT
In His response, Jesus is telling His disciples that it is not the size of the faith that is important, it is what you do with it.
When you look at the passages in the Bible where Jesus commended persons for their faith, one thing remains constant: these persons exercised their faith!
Are you exercising your faith?
When you exercise it, is it moving the mountains in your life?
Prayer: Father God, like the muscles in my body I believe that if I do not exercise my faith, it will not get stronger. I will stop asking You to increase my faith because I am going to go out and exercise it.
Thank You Jesus for the way that You answered this petition. Because of Your answer, I know that I need to exercise my faith like every person in the Bible who did exploits in your name. Amen.
Practise daily what God says to us and our faith will increase as we submit to him.
It is so true that it is Not the size of my fatih that matters but the way I exercise it. Lord help me start exercising my faith and stop asking for An increase.
